Admin Guide: Dashboard & Account Setup
Step-by-step guide to logging in, navigating your dashboard, and managing your account. Everything you need to get started as a new user.
Building tools for makers

This guide walks you through every step of accessing and using your LaunchKit dashboard. Whether you're a first-time user or need a refresher, this covers everything from login to account management.
What you'll learn:
- How to log in (magic link and Google OAuth)
- Understanding the dashboard layout
- Navigating between sections
- Managing your account settings
- Troubleshooting common login issues
Step 1: Accessing the Login Page
To access your dashboard, navigate to your app's login page:
https://yourdomain.com/loginWhat you'll see: A clean login form with two options—email (magic link) and Google sign-in.
Step 2: Logging In with Magic Link
Magic links are the easiest way to log in—no password required.
How it works:
- Enter your email address in the email field
- Click "Sign in with Email"
- Check your inbox for an email from the app (check spam if you don't see it within 2 minutes)
- Click the magic link in the email
- You're in! The link automatically logs you in and redirects to the dashboard
Important notes:
- Magic links expire after 1 hour—request a new one if expired
- Each link can only be used once—clicking it again won't work
- The link must be opened in the same browser you requested it from
Step 3: Logging In with Google
If you prefer, you can sign in with your Google account.
How it works:
- Click "Sign in with Google"
- Select your Google account from the popup (or enter credentials if not already signed in)
- Authorize the app when prompted
- Done! You're redirected to the dashboard
Pro tip: Use Google if you want instant access without waiting for an email.
Step 4: Understanding the Dashboard
Once logged in, you'll land on your main dashboard. Here's what each section does:
Dashboard Home
Your dashboard home shows an overview of your account status, subscription tier, and quick actions.
- Subscription status — Shows your current plan (Free, LaunchKit, or Teams)
- Quick stats — Key metrics at a glance
- Navigation menu — Links to Leads, Settings, and other sections
Navigation Elements
Look for these navigation elements:
- Top bar — Contains your account menu (click your email/avatar)
- Sidebar or menu — Links to different dashboard sections
- Breadcrumbs — Shows where you are in the app
Step 5: Accessing the Leads Dashboard
The Leads section is where you manage all captured leads. To access it:
- Click "Leads" in the navigation menu
- Or navigate directly to:
/dashboard/leads
https://yourdomain.com/dashboard/leadsNote: The Leads dashboard requires admin access. Your email must be in the ADMIN_EMAILS environment variable to view this section.
Step 6: Managing Your Account
To manage your account settings, subscriptions, and billing:
Accessing Account Settings
- Click your account menu (top-right corner, usually your email or avatar)
- Select "Account" or "Settings"
Managing Billing
To update payment methods, view invoices, or change your subscription:
- Click "Billing" or "Manage Subscription"
- This opens the Stripe Customer Portal
- From there you can:
- Update your payment method
- View and download invoices
- Change or cancel your subscription
- Update billing email
Step 7: Logging Out
To log out of your account:
- Click your account menu (top-right)
- Click "Sign Out" or "Logout"
- You'll be redirected to the home page or login screen
Security tip: Always log out when using shared or public computers.
Troubleshooting Common Issues
"I didn't receive the magic link email"
- Check your spam/junk folder — Magic links sometimes get filtered
- Wait 2-3 minutes — Email delivery can be delayed
- Try again — Request a new magic link
- Check the email address — Make sure you typed it correctly
"The magic link says it's expired"
- Magic links expire after 1 hour
- Solution: Go back to the login page and request a new link
"I can't access the Leads dashboard"
- The Leads dashboard is admin-only
- Your email must be listed in the
ADMIN_EMAILSenvironment variable - Solution: Contact the site owner to add your email as an admin
"Google sign-in isn't working"
- Clear your browser cache and try again
- Disable browser extensions that might block popups
- Try a different browser
"I'm stuck on a loading screen"
- Refresh the page (Ctrl+R or Cmd+R)
- Clear browser cache and cookies for the site
- Try incognito/private mode
