Why We Built LaunchKit

The story of building something we wished existed.

The Problem We Kept Having

Every time we started a new SaaS project, we hit the same wall: spend weeks building the same infrastructure we'd built before. Authentication. Payments. User management. Admin dashboards. The "boring stuff" that doesn't differentiate your product but takes forever to get right.

We'd look at boilerplates and starters, but they all had the same problem: they got you to "deployed" fast, but not to "revenue" fast. They'd give you a login page and maybe a basic Stripe setup, then leave you to figure out the rest. CRM? Build it. Booking? Build it. Analytics? Build it.

By the time we had something resembling a complete product, we'd burned weeks. Sometimes months. And the whole point of starting a SaaS was supposed to be moving fast.

The Realization

We realized that "shipping fast" was the wrong metric. What we actually wanted was earning fast. The goal wasn't to have something live — it was to have something that people would pay for.

That meant we needed more than a scaffold. We needed a complete business foundation: payment flows that actually worked in production, ways to capture and manage leads, tools to track what was happening with our users.

We needed something that would let us focus entirely on what made our product unique — not on rebuilding infrastructure every other founder was also rebuilding.

What We Built

LaunchKit is the starter we wished we had. It's not minimal — it's comprehensive. Every feature exists to help you go from idea to revenue as fast as possible:

Stripe Integration

Not just a webhook. Full subscription management, billing portal, and customer tracking.

Built-in CRM

Capture leads, track pipelines, manage contacts. No external tool required at launch.

Booking System

Sell demos, consultations, or services directly through your product.

Admin Dashboard

See what's happening with your users, leads, and revenue from day one.

SEO Blog

Start building organic traffic immediately with a ready-to-publish content system.

Analytics

Track the metrics that matter without wiring up five different tools.

What We Didn't Build

Equally important is what we left out. No complex theming systems. No animation libraries. No bleeding-edge technology that might break. Just solid, boring, reliable infrastructure that works.

We use Next.js because it's proven. Supabase because it handles auth and database reliably. Stripe because it's the standard for payments. Tailwind because it's fast and maintainable.

Nothing fancy. Nothing risky. Just tools that work, wired together properly.

Why One-Time Pricing

We charge once because we believe in the product. If LaunchKit helps you launch faster and earn sooner, it's worth the price. If it doesn't, we shouldn't be taking your money every month.

You get lifetime updates. We keep improving it, and you benefit — without paying again.

Who LaunchKit Is NOT For

  • Tutorial Seekers: If you want to learn how to build a SaaS from scratch, this isn't for you. This is a commercial product for shipping businesses.
  • Hackathon Teams: If you just need to ship a throwaway demo in 48 hours, use a free template. LaunchKit is for codebases you plan to maintain for years.
  • Technology Tourists: If you want to experiment with the latest experimental database or ORM, look elsewhere. We use boring, proven tech that makes money.

Who LaunchKit Is For

LaunchKit is for founders who want to make money, not just ship code. If you care about revenue more than deployment velocity, if you'd rather build your product than rebuild infrastructure, if you want to focus on customers instead of configuration — we built this for you.
